Peter Bergin’s love for Early American Popular Music reaches back to his formative years in Michigan. Passing this love onto others is the foundation of his performances today. Peter’s mission is to make people happy with the rhythms and infectious melodies of Early American Popular Music, especially Ragtime, Vintage American songs, and early patriotic favorites. Following a twenty-four year career in software development at many of the brightest companies in Silicon Valley, Peter took a leap of faith and embarked on a full-time career in music. Today, Peter performs regularly at theaters and festivals around the country, including the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival, West Coast Ragtime Festival, and Zehnder's Ragtime Festival. He presents regularly as a Michigan Humanities Touring Artist and is founder and artistic director of The American Jamboree, a vintage variety show featuring Peter with Ivory&Gold® (Jeff and Anne Barnhart) on dueling pianos, vocals and flutes. Peter is a recording artist with a variety of CD's available at www.berginmusic.com. His latest release, Ragtime Collage, is a diverse collection of classic rags and novelties. Peter looks forward to sharing Early American Music with audiences everywhere as a testament to America's original popular music.
